During 1997, the French minister of the National Education, Research and Technology (MENRT) and the Indian minister of Science and Technology have decided to boost the collaboration and open joint centers of excellence for research. | 1999, A key year of the Indo-French collaboration | |

The First Indo-French collaboration project in water resources funded by the Indo-French Center for promotion of the Advanced Research (IFCPAR) New Delhi was awarded and started in 1999 where NGRI and BRGM are collaborators. A major workshop on “Indo-French Collaboration in Water Science and Technology” was successfully organized during March 22-23, 1999 when 18 French and 50 Indian delegates from Research organizations, Universities and Water Industries met at NGRI, Hyderabad and identified the areas of joint research in water science and technology. |
